Meet the Owner
Kiara Roundtree is known by her clients as #thelochealer.
Her love for locs was birthed as a child admiring the regal energy and afrocentric style expressed by artists like Erykah Badu, Busta Rhymes and Lauryn Hill.
Her admiration blossomed into passion when she started her loc journey in October 2017. After months of contemplation and countless hours spent researching on Google and YouTube, she decided to start her loc journey herself instead of going into a salon. In retrospect, thank God she did.

Not long after developing her own loc care and maintenance routine, she fell in love with the art of locs so much that she began retwisting & styling the locs of close friends and family for free!
In 2020, the pandemic inspired Kiara to move from Virginia, her home state, to the big and bustling city of Los Angeles.
Instead of returning to Corporate America, she decided to leave ten years in the Property Management industry to build her own business and brand - iRetwist Locs.
Starting out of her small studio apartment in downtown L.A., she quickly transitioned to renting a booth at a celebrity beauty salon in Hollywood.​
Working alongside hair stylists with a roster of celebrity clients from Coi Leray to Rubi Rose, Kiara gained a lot of knowledge and experience in the hair & beauty industry.

After being there a few months, one of her clients referred her to a luxury barbershop in downtown L.A. that proved to be a better fit for her brand and clientele.
​
Due to personal reasons, Kiara decided to move back home to Virginia in the summer of 2023.​ She is now settled in Northern Virginia where she has her own salon suite in Alexandria.
Her main focus is growing her clientele and establishing her brand's presence on the east coast. She still travels to the west coast periodically to service her L.A. clients.

She will be opening a beauty and wellness spa that services all aspects of the beauty industry in the next few years.
​
Kiara understands that being a loctitian is more than servicing locs.​
It's a spiritual journey.
​
iRetwist Locs is more than her business. It's more than her brand.​
It's her ministry.
Kiara takes the time to truly connect with her clients. She offers loc advice. She also imparts Biblical wisdom and prays for and with her clients.​ Her clients leave with a fresh style and a strengthened sense of self.
